These sessions are recommended for math teachers, math coaches, teacher leaders, or administrators and other district leaders that teach mathematics or provide instructional coaching in mathematics at a school or district level.
The Teacher Learning Lab aims to develop teacher’s understanding of relevant K-8 mathematical content, the Standards for Mathematical Practice, Growth Mindset Beliefs, and teaching practices featured during classroom observations. This intensive professional development experience combines real-time observations in laboratory classrooms, planning discussions with host teachers, and engaging professional development sessions facilitated by UChicago STEM Education staff focused on how students learn mathematics. Daily reflection opportunities will help teachers consolidate their learning and consider implications for their own classrooms.
