Overview
Come spend two days making connections with fellow educators and engaging in professional learning sessions facilitated by UChicago STEM Education staff and Everyday Mathematics authors. The 2-day experience will include a variety of engaging sessions on teaching and learning mathematics, and features a keynote by past NCTM president Kevin Dykema. Cost includes sessions, continental breakfast and lunch on all conference days.
Making connections in mathematics is essential to high-quality teaching and learning. During the conference participants will make connections between:
- mathematical concepts and representations in order to deepen understanding
- mathematical content and pedagogy
- instructional practices and student learning
- presenters and other participants as part of a math community
Audience
This 2-day professional learning experience is recommended for teachers, math coaches/leaders, and administrators utilizing the Everyday Mathematics curriculum. There will be a mixture of whole-group and small-group sessions. For the small-group sessions, participants will select between Everyday Mathematics Essentials (designed for teachers new to Everyday Mathematics and those wanting to develop their foundational understanding of the curriculum) and Everyday Mathematics Leadership (designed for instructional coaches, leaders, and experienced Everyday Mathematics teachers).
Cost
Cost $400.00. Registration is limited to 100 participants. Please secure your spot early.
